SCHOLARSHIP AWARD CRITERIA AND APPLICATION
PURPOSE: An award of up to $500.00 will be given to assist one student each year, who is attending or is planning to attend a post-secondary institution, with educational costs not met by other traditional educational scholarships. The award is sent directly to the recipient.
QUALIFICATIONS AND APPLICATION CRITERIA:
Nominators must be current members of MIEA.
Student must be American Indian.
Student must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution (must send documentation).
Student must provide an official transcript from the last semester of attendance.
Student must provide a written (no more than 2 pages) student essay.
Student must provide an official transcript from the last semester of attendance.
Nominator must be a representative of an educational agency.
Nominator must provide a letter of recommendation on behalf of student.

PROCEDURE: There will be no exceptions in the application process. Applications will be reviewed by an Educational Award Committee of the MIEA Board of Directors. Selection of the recipient by approval of the Board of Directors will be final.
Applications with postmarks after September 30, 2009 and/or incomplete applications will not be accepted, so send the complete application form and required materials postmarked on or before September 30, 2009 to:
