Boo-Zhoo,
It is that time of year with school in full session and ricing of the lakes. We are in the Waabagaa Giizis (Changing Leaves Moon). This would be a time for gathering of foods, preparing for the winter months and setting up the winter camps.
It is very important to keep the traditions alive and in the forefront of all that we do as educators and elders. Many of these activities are a part of our daily lives as educators speakers and through our NDN humor. Minnesota Indian education Association has a long standing in the Indian community and will be here as long as we preserve the culture and language.
I want to say "mii gwitch" to each and everyone of you for your dedication and relentless drive to educate our youth in a good way. The path one walks as a Native person is not an easy path. We live in a world that is fast paced, techno-geeky, and unforgiving. Always remember that you do make a difference in the lives of people you encounter.
